Regular Season Round 16: Sendai 89ers - Iwate Big Bulls 71-88

Very important is a home loss of second ranked Sendai 89ers (10-4) against sixth ranked Iwate Big Bulls (8-6) on Sunday night. Host Sendai 89ers were defeated by Iwate Big Bulls in Sendai 88-71. Sendai 89ers were tied at the half but could not keep up in last two quarters eventually losing the game. Iwate Big Bulls shot 20 for 28 from the free-throw line, while Sendai 89ers only scored three points from the stripe. Worth to mention a great performance of American forward Alandise Harris (198-90, college: Arkansas) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 32 points and 11 rebounds. Nigerian forward Abdullahi Kuso (206-84, college: Tallahassee CC) contributed with 19 points and 7 rebounds (made all of his ten free throws !!!) for the winners. American guard Wendell White (198-84, college: UNLV) replied with a double-double by scoring 28 points and 18 rebounds and his fellow American import power forward Jamal Boykin (203-87, college: California) added 27 points, 13 rebounds and 6 assists in the effort for Sendai 89ers. Iwate Big Bulls moved-up to fifth place, which they share with Shimane SM and Kanazawa Samuraiz. Sendai 89ers at the other side keep the second position with four games lost. Iwate Big Bulls will play against higher ranked Fukushima (#3) at home in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Sendai 89ers will play against Saitama Broncos and hope to get back on the winning track.
