Regular Season Round 9: Sagunto - Valencia II 57-75

Everything went according to plan in Gilet where fifth ranked Valencia-2 (4-3) won against 9th ranked Sagunto (1-6) 75-57 on Saturday. The guests trailed by 8 points after first quarter, but they stormed back and won the game by 18 points. Valencia-2 outrebounded Sagunto 45-24 including a 32-19 advantage in defensive rebounds. The best player for the winners was forward David Guardia (200-90) who scored 13 points and 9 rebounds. Center Borja Soriano (204-96) chipped in 11 points. At the other side the best for losing team was Salvadorean forward Oscar Pena (196-97) who recorded 12 points and 6 rebounds and Luis Ferrando (185-96, college: Mount Olive) added 11 points respectively. Both coaches allowed to play bench players saving starting five for next games. Valencia-2 moved-up to fourth place in Group E, which they share with Paterna. Sagunto lost their third game in a row. Newly promoted team keeps the ninth position with six games lost. Valencia-2 will face UCAM Murcia II (#7) at home in the next round. Sagunto will play against Myrtia in Murcia and hope to win that game.
