Regular Season Round 9: Igualada - AEC Collblanc 64-69

There was a surprise result when seventh ranked AEC Collblanc (4-5) defeated on the road second-best Igualada (5-4) 69-64 on Saturday. The best player for the winners was point guard Josep Maria Guzman (182-84) who scored 16 points and 6 rebounds (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field). Power forward Javi Rodriguez (202-92) chipped in 16 points. At the other side the best for losing team was center Eduard Tejero (195-92) who recorded 16 points and 6 rebounds and Adria Gual (185-93) added 19 points respectively. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Igualada's coach Raul Caballero let to play ten players, but that didn't help to avoid defeat in this game. AEC Collblanc moved-up to fifth place in Group C-B, which they share with Martorell and Andorra II. Newly promoted Igualada keeps the second position with four games lost. AEC Collblanc will face higher ranked Castelldefels (#4) on the road in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Igualada will play against the league's leader L'Hospitalet and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
