Regular Season Round 8: Avila - Valladolid 74-56

Leader Fontedoso Carrefour delivered the seventh victory. This time they beat 12th ranked Blancos de Rueda (3-5) 74-56 in Avila. It looked good early as Blancos de Rueda took a 4-point small lead at the end of first quarter. But then Fontedoso Carrefour had a 20-14 second period charge getting the lead and Blancos de Rueda was not able to take back game control losing it eventually 56-74. The winners were led by American-Ugandan forward Brandon Sebirumbi (205-90, college: Furman, agency: Dynamics Global Management) who scored that evening 15 points and 7 rebounds and Serbian power forward Luka Nikolic (209-94) supported him with 8 points and 10 rebounds. Even a double-double of 22 points and 16 rebounds by center Sergio De La Fuente (198-89) did not help to save the game for Blancos de Rueda. Venezuelan swingman Francisco Centeno (201-85) added 7 points for the guests. Both coaches used bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Fontedoso Carrefour maintains first position with 7-1 record. Blancos de Rueda at the other side dropped to the eighth place with five games lost. Fontedoso Carrefour's next round opponent will be CB Granada (#6) on the road where they are favorite. Blancos de Rueda will play against Marin and hope to win that game and get promotion back to the LEB Gold just one year after relegation.
