Regular Season Round 17: Oita H.Devils - Shiga L-Stars 84-91

There was no surprise when 11th ranked Oita Heat Devils (2-10) lost at home to seventh ranked Shiga L-Stars (8-5) 91-84 on Saturday. The guests trailed by 2 points after first quarter, but they rallied back to get the 2-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 91-84. Shiga L-Stars made 19-of-24 free shots (79.2 percent) during the game. Shiga L-Stars outrebounded Oita Heat Devils 41-28 including 33 on the defensive glass. Yu Okada (184-83) orchestrated the victory by scoring 38 points (!!!). American forward Jeffrey Parmer (203-85, college: Florida Atlantic) contributed with a double-double by scoring 16 points and 13 rebounds for the winners. American forward Chehales Tapscott (195-90, college: Portland St.) answered with a double-double by scoring 29 points and 13 rebounds and the other American import forward Patrick Simon (203-92, college: Seattle Pacific) added 15 points, 9 rebounds and 4 blocks in the effort for Oita Heat Devils. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Shiga L-Stars maintains seventh place with 8-5 record. Loser Oita Heat Devils keep the eleventh position with ten games lost. Shiga L-Stars will have a break next round. Oita Heat Devils will play again at home against Shiga L-Stars (#7) and hope to win that game.
