Regular Season Round 9: Cazorla - Andujar 65-67

A very close game took place in Cazorla between Andujar and Cazorla. First ranked Andujar (4-1) got a very close victory on the road over 7th ranked Cazorla (1-4). Andujar managed to escape with a 2-point win 67-65 on Saturday evening. Guest team only slightly avoided a big embarassment. The guests took control from the first minutes by winning the initial quarter 21-15. But Cazorla won second period 14-12. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Andujar forced 19 Cazorla turnovers. Forward Angel Vazquez (190-95) stepped up and scored 20 points and 6 rebounds for the winners and center Diego Perez (204-93) chipped in 14 points and 11 rebounds. Four Andujar players scored in double figures. The best for the losing side was Senegalese center Mouhamadou Diop (212-83) with a double-double by scoring 12 points, 11 rebounds and 7 assists and forward Jose Marquez (194-88) scored 22 points. Andujar have a solid series of three victories in a row. They maintain first place in Group D-East with 4-1 record, which they share with Coin. Loser Cazorla keeps the seventh position with four games lost. Andujar will meet at home league's second-placed Coin in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Cazorla will play against Novaschool (#8) in Malaga and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
