Regular Season Round 13: Chanson V-M - Aishin AW 65-58

There was no surprise in Shizuoka where 8th ranked Aishin Wings (4-9) were defeated by third ranked Chanson V-M (10-1) 65-58 on Saturday. The hosts took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But Aishin Wings won third quarter 17-9. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. The game was decided in the last minutes when Chanson V-M won last quarter 20-14. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when Chanson V-M made 9 blocks. Guard Minaho Minamiminoru (167-93) fired a double-double by scoring 17 points and 10 assists for the winners. Center Miyuki Kawamura (183-94) chipped in 17 points and 5 rebounds. Forward Yuka Maeda (173-84) produced 12 points and 7 rebounds and the former international swingman Tanaka Masaki (171-88) added 13 points and 5 rebounds respectively for lost side. The victory was the tenth consecutive win for Chanson V-M. They maintain third place with 10-1 record behind leader JX-Eneos S. Loser Aishin Wings keep the eighth position with nine games lost. Chanson V-M will face again Aishin Wings (#8) in Anjo in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game.
