Very important is a road loss of second ranked Niigata Albirex (10-5) against fourth ranked Akita Happinets (10-4) on Sunday night. Visiting Niigata Albirex was crushed by Akita Happinets in Akita 91-67. It was a key game for the second position in the league. The game was mostly controlled by Akita Happinets. Niigata Albirex managed to win third quarter 27-24. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Akita Happinets have a solid four-game winning streak. They moved-up to second place, which they share with Toyama Grouses. Niigata Albirex lost third consecutive game. They dropped to the fourth position with five games lost. Akita Happinets will meet Iwate Big Bulls (#6) on the road in the next round. Niigata Albirex will play against Toyama Grouses and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
