Regular Season Round 9: PVSK Pannon - Falco KC 83-82

Top ranked Falco KC (7-2) recorded its second loss in Pecs on Sunday night. Visitors were edged by twelfth ranked PVSK Pannon (3-6) 83-82. It ended at the same time the six-game winning streak of Falco KC. The hosts took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But Falco KC won third quarter 21-14. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. The best player for the winners was naturalized Serbian guard Marko Popadic (189-89) who scored 20 points, 6 rebounds and 6 assists. Croatian forward Veljko Budimir (199-85) chipped in 19 points. At the other side the best for losing team was international guard Benedek Varadi (195-95) who recorded 21 points and 5 rebounds and Canadian power forward Ryan Wright (206-87, college: Oklahoma) added 13 points and 7 rebounds respectively. Both teams had five players each who scored in double figures. PVSK Pannon moved-up to tenth place, which they share with Kaposvari and Marso NYKK. Falco KC at the other side still keeps top position with two games lost. They share it with Szolnok and Atomeromu. PVSK Pannon is looking forward to face higher ranked Szedeak (#9) in Szeged in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Falco KC will play at home against Szolnok (#3) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
