The game had a very big importance for fourth-ranked Armani Milano as it allowed them to take a leadership position after previous leader's (Giorgo Tesi PT) loss. Armani Milano smashed one of their biggest challengers Umana Venezia at home 87-65. It was a key game for the top position in the league. The game without a history. Armani Milano led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated down low during the game scoring 54 of its points in the paint compared to Umana Venezia's 30. They outrebounded Umana Venezia 42-22 including a 31-15 advantage in defensive rebounds. Armani Milano players were unselfish on offense dishing 24 assists. Worth to mention a great performance of American forward Robbie Hummel (203-89, college: Purdue, agency: Priority Sports) who helped to win the game recording 19 points and 9 rebounds and international swingman Alessandro Gentile (200-92) who added 19 points during the contest. Five Armani Milano players scored in double figures. American power forward Josh Owens (203-88, college: Stanford) responded with 13 points and 7 rebounds and Croatian forward Hrvoje Peric (203-85) scored 11 points and 5 rebounds. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. As mentioned above they are at the top of the standings, which they share with Giorgo Tesi PT. Umana Venezia at the other side keeps the third place with three games lost. They share the position with 4 other teams. Umana Venezia will play next round against Juvecaserta trying to get back on the winning streak. Armani Milano will try to continue on its current victory against eleventh ranked AV Cantu on the road.
