Regular Season Round 7: Olympiacos - Koroivos 83-64

No shocking result in a game in Athens where third ranked Olympiacos (6-1) smashed 5th ranked Koroivos (4-3) 83-64 on Sunday. The game was mostly controlled by Olympiacos. Koroivos managed to win fourth quarter 17-16. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They outrebounded Koroivos 48-36 including 20 on the offensive glass. 26 personal fouls committed by Koroivos helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. Serbian center Nikola Milutinov (212-94) fired a double-double by scoring 12 points and 11 rebounds for the winners. Liberian-American power forward Othello Hunter (203-86, college: Ohio St., agency: David Lee services) chipped in a double-double by scoring 12 points and 11 rebounds. Four Olympiacos players scored in double figures. The former international forward Panagiotis Vasilopoulos (202-84) produced 11 points and 8 rebounds and American forward Dwayne Davis (196-89, college: S.Mississippi) added 15 points respectively for lost side. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. The victory was the fifth consecutive win for Olympiacos. Defending champion maintains third place with 6-1 record behind leader AEK Athens. Loser Koroivos keeps the fifth position with three games lost. They share it with Nea Kifisia. Olympiacos are looking forward to face bottom-ranked Kavala (#14) on the road in the next round which should be an easy win for them. Koroivos will play against AGOR (#11) and is hoping to prove to their supporters that the loss was just an accident.
