There was a surprise result when thirteenth ranked Hapoel Kazrin (2-5) defeated at home higher ranked Hap.R/G Givat. (2-5) 115-108 on Tuesday. Hapoel Kazrin made 22-of-27 free shots (81.5 percent) during the game. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. Hap.R/G Givat. was plagued by 26 personal fouls down the stretch. It was a great evening for U.S. Virgin Islands forward Aaron Brown (196-92, college: Boston Coll.) who led his team to a victory scoring 40 points (!!!) and 9 rebounds. American center Demarco Cox (203-90, college: Georgia Tech) helped adding 19 points, 8 rebounds and 6 assists. At the losing side point guard Yoad Bet-Yosef (182-87, agency: Avi Zilberman) responded with 31 points and 4 assists and American-Nigerian forward Mark Nwakamma (198-93, college: Hartford) produced a double-double by scoring 21 points and 10 rebounds. Both teams had five players each who scored in double figures. Hapoel Kazrin moved-up to ninth place, which they share with 4 other teams including defeated Hap.R/G Givat. Hapoel Kazrin will face Hapoel Migd.H. (#13) in Tarshicha in the next round.
