Regular Season Round 7: Kutaisi - Dinamo Tbilisi 75-64

Very expected game when 6th ranked Dinamo Tbilisi (3-4) lost on the road to second ranked Kutaisi (5-2) 75-64. Dinamo Tbilisi was ahead by 6 points at the halftime before a 43-26 second half run of Kutaisi. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 25 assists. It was a great evening for forward Giorgi Barbakadze (203-91) who led his team to a victory scoring 19 points and 5 rebounds. Azerbaijani guard Zaur Pashaev (188-83) helped adding 10 points and 9 assists. Four Kutaisi players scored in double figures. Kutaisi's coach Kote Tugushi allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. At the losing side forward Grigol Shvangiradze (196-91) responded with 18 points and 8 rebounds and international center Giorgi Sharabidze (210-90, agency: Mansfield and Associates) produced a double-double by scoring 14 points and 11 rebounds. Kutaisi maintains second place with 5-2 record behind leader Batumi. Dinamo Tbilisi lost third consecutive game. They dropped to the fifth position with four games lost. They share it with Rustavi and Mgzavrebi. Kutaisi will play against bottom-ranked Mgzavrebi (#8) in Tbilisi in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. Dinamo Tbilisi will play on the road against the league's leader Batumi and hopes to get back on the winning track.
