Regular Season Round 16: Los Leones - AB Ancud 85-91

Very important is a home loss of second ranked Los Leones (9-6) against eighth ranked AB Ancud (7-8) on Sunday night. Host Los Leones were defeated by AB Ancud in a tough game in Quilpue 85-91. It ended at the same time the four-game winning streak of Los Leones. The guests were already 13 points ahead after 3 quarters before a 27-20 Los Leones' run in the last quarter cut the lead to 91-85 at the end of the game. AB Ancud made 16-of-19 charity shots (84.2 percent) during the game. The winners were led by Jamaican-American guard Akeem Scott (185-83, college: High Point) who scored that evening 29 points (made all of his ten free throws !!!) and Venezuelan forward Juan Coronado (203-90, college: Liberty) supported him with 22 points (on 10-of-12 shooting from the field). Scott is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. Five AB Ancud players scored in double figures. Even 22 points by American forward Stanley Robinson (206-88, college: Connecticut, agency: HMS) did not help to save the game for Los Leones. His fellow American import Travele Jones (203-88, college: Texas Southern, agency: HMS) added 21 points for lost side. AB Ancud moved-up to sixth place, which they share with 3 other teams. Los Leones at the other side keep the second position with six games lost. AB Ancud will play against CD Puerto Varas (#6) at home in the next round. Los Leones will play against Puente Alto (#12) and hope to get back on the winning track.
