Regular Season Round 9: Valladolid - Marin 81-90

No shocking result in a game when fourth ranked Marin (6-3) beat 10th ranked Blancos de Rueda (3-6) in Valladolid 90-81 on Sunday. Blancos de Rueda was trailing by 1 point at halftime but managed to get 2-point lead after three quarters before a 23-12 charge of Marin, which allowed them to win the game. It was a good game for American guard Gabe Rogers (188-90, college: N.Arizona) who led his team to a victory with 26 points, 6 rebounds, 5 assists and 4 steals. Power forward Antonio Pantin (206-88, agency: Interperformances) contributed with 16 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists for the winners. Four Marin players scored in double figures. Center Sergio De La Fuente (198-89) answered with a double-double by scoring 34 points (!!!) and 13 rebounds (on 11-of-14 shooting from the field) and point guard Pablo Perez (181-97, agency: Beo Basket) added 16 points and 6 assists in the effort for Blancos de Rueda. Blancos de Rueda's coach rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Marin have a solid series of four victories in a row. They moved-up to second place, which they share with 3 other teams. Loser Blancos de Rueda dropped to the ninth position with six games lost. Marin will face CB Granada (#7) at home in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. Blancos de Rueda will play against El Olivar in Zaragoza and hope to win that game.
