Very predictable result when second ranked Kutaisi (6-2) defeated at home bottom-ranked Mgzavrebi (3-5) 81-66. Mgzavrebi was ahead by 8 points at the halftime before a 47-24 second half run of Kutaisi. They dominated down low during the game scoring 60 of its points in the paint compared to Mgzavrebi's 32. They outrebounded Mgzavrebi 44-32 including 18 on the offensive glass. Kutaisi players were unselfish on offense dishing 22 assists. The winners were led by the former international center Richard Matiashvili (207-89) who had that evening a double-double by scoring 16 points, 10 rebounds and 4 assists and guard Levan Tsekvava (190-89) supported him with 18 points and 7 rebounds. Kutaisi's coach Kote Tugushi used a ten-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Even 11 points, 6 rebounds, 5 assists and 5 steals by American point guard Kaheem Ransom (185, college: Sam Houston St.) did not help to save the game for Mgzavrebi. Kutaisi used an opportunity after Batumi lost their game and moved up joining them at the top position. Mgzavrebi at the other side stay at the bottom place with five games lost.
