Regular Season Round 11: Leipzig - Wuerzburg 80-74

Date: December 5, 2015
Very predictable result when third ranked USC Leipzig (8-3) beat at home 9th ranked Wuerzburg (4-7) 80-74 on Saturday. However just six-point win is not that big difference and the fans of host team counted on more convincing victory. USC Leipzig forced 20 Wuerzburg turnovers. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 24 assists comparing to just 11 passes made by Wuerzburg's players. The best player for the winners was American power forward Julian Scott (203-90, college: Adams St.) who had a double-double by scoring 23 points and 11 rebounds. Forward Sascha Leutloff (202-82) chipped in a double-double by scoring 13 points, 5 rebounds and 10 assists. Four USC Leipzig players scored in double figures. Forward Felix Hoffmann (195-89) produced 20 points and 7 rebounds and point guard Constantin Ebert (185-96) added 22 points respectively for the guests. Wuerzburg's coach Peter Guenschel rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. USC Leipzig have a solid series of three victories in a row. They maintain third place in South with 8-3 record despite having the same number of points like the leader Wolfenbuettel. Loser Wuerzburg keeps the ninth position with seven games lost. USC Leipzig will face Elchingen (#4) on the road in the next round. Wuerzburg will play against Speyer (#12) and hope to win that game.
