Not a big story in a game when 10th ranked Oita Heat Devils (4-12) were outscored on the road by seventh ranked Yokohama BC (11-8) 97-72 on Saturday. The game was mostly controlled by Yokohama BC. Oita Heat Devils was better in second period 23-22. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Yokohama BC dominated down low during the game scoring 68 of its points in the paint compared to Oita Heat Devils' 44. They outrebounded Oita Heat Devils 50-29 including a 37-20 advantage in defensive rebounds. Yokohama BC looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when Yokohama BC made 8 blocks. It was a good game for Panamanian-American forward Jordan Henriquez (214-89, college: Kansas St.) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 17 points, 16 rebounds and 4 blocks. American forward Carl Hall (203-89, college: Wichita St.) contributed with a double-double by scoring 20 points and 13 rebounds for the winners. Guard Toshino Tatsuhiko (185-88) answered with 19 points, 8 rebounds and 7 assists and American forward Chehales Tapscott (195-90, college: Portland St.) added 13 points, 9 rebounds and 4 assists in the effort for Oita Heat Devils. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Yokohama BC moved-up to sixth place, which they share with Osaka Evessa. Oita Heat Devils at the other side keep the tenth position with 12 games lost. Yokohama BC will face again Oita Heat Devils (#10) at home in the next round.
