Regular Season Round 18: Lietkabelis-2 - Suduva-Mantinga 78-112

NKL top team - Suduva-Mantinga (15-3) had no problems winning another game on Saturday. This time they crushed fourteenth ranked Lietkabelis-2 (3-15) in Panevezys 112-78. The game without a history. Suduva-Mantinga led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They shot 63.4 percent from the field. Suduva-Mantinga outrebounded Lietkabelis-2 35-24 including a 24-13 advantage in defensive rebounds. They shot the lights out from three sinking 13 long-distance shots on high 52.0 percentage. Suduva-Mantinga looked well-organized offensively handing out 28 assists. The best player for the winners was forward Ignas Dauksys (197-93) who scored 19 points and 5 assists. The former international Aurimas Kieza (202-82, college: Hofstra) chipped in 18 points and 8 rebounds. Five Suduva-Mantinga players scored in double figures. At the other side the best for losing team was center Tomas Rimsa (208-96) who recorded 24 points and 8 rebounds (went 9 for 9 at the free throw line !!!) and power forward Gediminas Zalalis (205-95) added 10 points respectively. Lietkabelis-2's coach gave up on the game allowing to play ten players seeing no chance for a win. Suduva-Mantinga have an impressive five-game winning streak. They maintain first position with 15-3 record. Newly promoted Lietkabelis-2 stay at the bottom place with 15 games lost. Suduva-Mantinga will meet at home Telsiai (#8) in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Lietkabelis-2 will play against Vytis (#3) and hope to secure a win.
