Regular Season Round 9: Bipa Basket - Zaporizhya 85-81

The game between closely ranked teams ended with 7th ranked Zaporizhya's (4-8) road loss to sixth ranked Bipa Basket (6-6) in Odessa 81-85 on Saturday. The hosts took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But Zaporizhya won third quarter 23-22. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Bipa Basket looked well-organized offensively handing out 25 assists. It was a good game for American guard Chris Carter (196-92, college: Florida Tech, agency: Interperformances) who led his team to a victory with 17 points, 9 rebounds and 7 assists. Forward Dmytro Khodov (203-87) contributed with 19 points and 5 rebounds for the winners. Bipa Basket's coach Vadim Pudzyrei used an eleven-player rotation in such tough game. Guard Stanislav Ovdeyenko (191-84) answered with 25 points and forward Yakov Zmitrovich (200-84) added 16 points and 8 rebounds in the effort for Zaporizhya. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Bipa Basket moved-up to fifth place. Loser Zaporizhya keeps the seventh position with eight games lost. Bipa Basket will face Mykolaiv (#6) in Mykolaiv in the next round. Zaporizhya will play at home against the league's second-placed SC Kryvbas and hope to win that game.
