Regular Season Round 11: Oviedo - Coruna 98-95

Fourteenth-ranked Leyma Basquet (3-8) made lots of trouble for sixth ranked Oviedo CB (7-4) on Saturday. Oviedo CB managed to secure only three-point victory 98-95. However their fans expected much easier game. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Leyma Basquet. The best player for the winners was American forward Jordan Swing (198-90, college: UAB) who scored 42 points (!!!), 6 rebounds and 4 assists (was perfect 8-for-8 from the free throw line). Point guard Ferran Bassas (183-92) chipped in a double-double by scoring 12 points, 11 assists and 4 steals. Center Sergio Olmos (213-86, college: Temple) produced 20 points and 8 rebounds (on 9-of-11 shooting from the field) and point guard Angel Hernandez (195-91) added 14 points respectively for the guests. Four Leyma Basquet players scored in double figures. Both coaches allowed to play bench players in such tough game. Oviedo CB moved-up to third place, which they share with 3 other teams. Loser Leyma Basquet keeps the fourteenth position with eight games lost. Oviedo CB will face Leche Rio Breogan (#8) in Lugo in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. Leyma Basquet will play at home against Caceres Basket (#12) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
