Regular Season Round 9: Tochigi Brex - Hokkaido L. 74-69

The game had a very big importance for second-ranked Tochigi Brex as it allowed them to take a leadership position. Tochigi Brex defeated 8th ranked Hokkaido L. at home 74-69. The hosts took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But Hokkaido L. won third quarter 23-19. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. It was a good game for American power forward Ryan Rossiter (204-89, college: Siena) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 27 points and 15 rebounds. The former international swingman Takatoshi Furukawa (190-87) contributed with 23 points for the winners. Furukawa is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. American forward Jerome Tillman (201-87, college: Ohio, agency: Inception Sports) answered with 18 points and 8 rebounds and guard Yoshitake Matsushita (184-92) added 7 points, 7 assists and 4 steals in the effort for Hokkaido L.Four Hokkaido L. players scored in double figures. Tochigi Brex (14-2) have an impressive series of seven victories in a row. As mentioned above they are alone now at the top position. Hokkaido L. lost fifth consecutive game. They dropped to the ninth place with 11 games lost. Hokkaido L. will play next round against Nishinomiya S. trying to get back on the winning streak. Tochigi Brex will try to continue on its current victory against tenth ranked Kumamoto V. on the road.
