The game in Lodz was also quite interesting. Second ranked Polkowice (9-2) played at the court of 7th ranked Widzew (4-7). Polkowice managed to secure a 9-point victory 51-42 on Sunday. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of Widzew. The guests trailed by 4 points after first quarter, but they rallied back to get the 11-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 51-42. Polkowice forced 23 Widzew turnovers. The best player for the winners was American power forward Nikki Greene (193-90, college: Penn St.) who had a double-double by scoring 13 points and 13 rebounds. Her fellow American import guard Nicole Michael (188-87, college: Syracuse, agency: Two Points) chipped in 13 points and 9 rebounds. American guard Angel Robinson (170-89, college: Marquette, agency: LBM Management) produced 10 points and 6 rebounds and Marta Urbaniak (182-87) added 12 points respectively for the hosts. The victory was the eighth consecutive win for Polkowice. They maintain second place with 9-2 record behind leader Wisla Krakow. Loser Widzew keeps the seventh position with seven games lost. They share it with Energa Torun. Polkowice will meet at home Sleza Wroclaw (#3) in the next round, which may be the game of the day. Widzew will play against MKK Siedlce (#12) and hope to secure a win.
