Regular Season Round 9: Wilki Morskie - Stal Ostrow 82-65

We should mention about the upset which took place in Szczecin, where 10th ranked Stal Ostrow Wlkp. (4-5) lost to thirteenth ranked Wilki Morskie (4-6) in a road game 65-82 on Sunday. The game without a history. Wilki Morskie led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. The best player for the winners was American Frank Gaines (191-90, college: IPFW, agency: Comsport) who scored 18 points and 6 rebounds. The former international swingman Pawel Kikowski (193-86) chipped in 15 points and 6 assists. Four Wilki Morskie players scored in double figures. At the other side the best for losing team was Cameroonian center Alexis Wangmene (205-89, college: Texas) who recorded 16 points and 6 rebounds and American guard Curtis Millage (188-81, college: Arizona St.) added 17 points respectively. Both coaches allowed to play bench players saving starting five for next games. Wilki Morskie moved-up to twelfth place, which they share with MKS DG. Newly promoted Stal Ostrow Wlkp. keeps the tenth position with five games lost. Wilki Morskie will face higher ranked PGE Turow (#11) in Zgorzelec in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory.
