Regular Season Round 10: Den Bosch - Leeuwarden 100-70

The game between closely ranked teams ended with 5th ranked Leeuwarden's (3-5) road loss to fourth ranked Den Bosch (5-4) 70-100. It looked good early as Leeuwarden took a 2-point small lead at the end of first quarter. But then Den Bosch had a 35-20 second period charge getting the lead and Leeuwarden was not able to take back game control losing it eventually 70-100. Den Bosch forced 19 Leeuwarden turnovers. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 22 assists. Leeuwarden was plagued by 24 personal fouls down the stretch. Worth to mention a great performance of the former international forward Stefan Wessels (203-84) who helped to win the game recording 23 points (on 8-of-10 shooting from the field). Serbian-Canadian forward Dejan Kravic (211-90, college: Texas Tech) contributed with 10 points and 7 rebounds for the winners. Four Den Bosch players scored in double figures. American forward Josiah Heath (206-93, college: Canisius, agency: Pro Partner Sports Management) replied with a double-double by scoring 14 points and 10 rebounds and his fellow American import guard Javier Duren (193-93, college: Yale) added 17 points in the effort for Leeuwarden. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Defending champion moved-up to third place, which they share with Groningen. Leeuwarden at the other side keeps the fifth position with five games lost. They share it with Amsterdam. Den Bosch will play against Groningen (#4) on the road in the next round. Leeuwarden will play against the league's second-placed Leiden and hopes to get back on the winning track.
