Sao Jose/Vinac was tied after three quarters but could not keep up in the last quarter eventually losing the game. Isaac Goncalves (196-90) nailed 17 points and 6 rebounds for the winning side and center Douglas Kurtz (213-87, college: Hawaii) accounted for 12 points and 8 rebounds. Four Vivo/Franca players scored in double figures. Vivo/Franca's coach Aluisio Xavier Ferreira used a ten-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Forward Cesar Araujo (201-81) came up with 17 points and Pedro Lima (191-87) added 18 points respectively for Sao Jose/Vinac in the defeat. Vivo/Franca moved-up to fourth place.
