Regular Season Round 19: Lietkabelis-2 - Vytis 63-68

There was no surprise in Panevezys where 14th ranked Lietkabelis-2 (2-16) was defeated by third ranked Vytis (12-7) 68-63. The guests took control from the first minutes by winning the initial quarter 22-14. But Lietkabelis-2 won second period 17-14. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. It was an exceptional evening for forward Marijus Uzupis (197-93) who led the winners and scored 15 points and 8 rebounds. Forward Karolis Brusokas (200-91) accounted for 8 points and 11 rebounds for the winning side. Four Vytis players scored in double figures. Power forward Gediminas Zalalis (205-95) came up with 21 points and 6 rebounds and power forward Darius Marcinkevicius (201-91) added 14 points and 6 rebounds respectively for Lietkabelis-2 in the defeat. Vytis maintains third place with 12-7 record having four points less than leader Suduva-Mantinga. Newly promoted Lietkabelis-2 stay at the bottom position with 16 games lost. Vytis' next round opponent will be Silute (#11) at home and are hoping to win another game. Lietkabelis-2 will play against Zalgiris II in Kaunas and hope to win that game.
