Regular Season Round 23: Okinawa GK - Toyama Grouses 93-77

There was a small surprise when fifth ranked Okinawa GK (14-6) defeated at home 3rd placed Toyama Grouses (12-7) 93-77 on Saturday. The hosts trailed by 12 points after first quarter, but they stormed back and won the game by 16 points. Okinawa GK made 18-of-21 free shots (85.7 percent) during the game. They also forced 20 Toyama Grouses turnovers. The game was also dominated by American players. The best player for the winners was guard Draelon Burns (194-85, college: De Paul) who scored 24 points and 8 rebounds. Power forward Evan Ravenel (203-89, college: Ohio St.) chipped in a double-double by scoring 12 points and 13 rebounds. Forward Sam Willard (205-88, college: Pacific) produced a double-double by scoring 16 points and 15 rebounds and guard Jermaine Dixon (191-87, college: Pittsburgh, agency: HMS) added 7 points and 8 rebounds respectively for the guests. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Okinawa GK moved-up to fourth place which they share with defeated Toyama Grouses. Loser Toyama Grouses dropped to the fourth position with seven games lost. Okinawa GK will face again Toyama Grouses (#4) at home in the next round.
