Regular Season Round 11: AZS PCz - Cieszyn 73-66

There was no surprise in Czestochowa where 9th ranked Cieszyn (4-7) was defeated by fifth ranked AZS PCz (7-4) 73-66 on Saturday. AZS PCz forced 19 Cieszyn turnovers. The best player for the winners was swingman Mateusz Gazarkiewicz (193-91) who scored 23 points, 9 rebounds, 4 assists and 4 steals. Forward Nikodem Kowalski (200-95) chipped in a double-double by scoring 15 points and 10 rebounds. Forward Lukasz Ochodek (197-82) produced 20 points and 6 rebounds and center Tomasz Czajkowski (204-82) added 8 points and 8 rebounds respectively for the guests. Cieszyn's coach Lukasz Kuboszek let to play eleven players, but that didn't help to avoid defeat in this game. AZS PCz moved-up to third place, which they share with AZS UMCS and LKS Lodz. Cieszyn lost their fourth game in a row. They dropped to the eighth position with seven games lost. AZS PCz will face AZS PS Gliwice (#3) at home in the next round, which may be the game of the day. Cieszyn will play against AZS AWF M. II (#11) in Katowice and hope to win that game.
