Regular Season Round 19: CD Valdivia - Puente Alto 99-74
Date: December 12, 2015
Very predictable result when third ranked Deportivo Valdivia (11-8) smashed at home bottom-ranked Puente Alto (7-11) 99-74 on Saturday. The hosts trailed by 1 point after first quarter, but they stormed back to get the 12-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 99-74. Deportivo Valdivia dominated down low during the game scoring 66 of its points in the paint compared to Puente Alto's 38 and made 24-of-29 free shots (82.8 percent) during the game. Deportivo Valdivia forced 23 Puente Alto turnovers. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. The former international guard Sebastian Suarez (193-91, college: Portland St.) fired 29 points and 6 rebounds for the winners. American forward Arnold Louis (201-90, college: Savannah St.) chipped in 25 points and 9 rebounds. American guard Louis Munks (190-90, college: Prairie View A&M) produced 35 points (!!!) and 6 steals and American-Nigerian forward Andrew Osemhen (206-92, college: Kennesaw St.) added 14 points and 9 rebounds respectively for lost side. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Deportivo Valdivia moved-up to second place, which they share with Las Animas and Los Leones. Loser Puente Alto dropped to the bottom position with 11 games lost. Deportivo Valdivia will meet at home Colo Colo (#11) in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Puente Alto will play against Universidad Catolica and hope to secure a win.
