Sixth-ranked AB Ancud (9-11) made lots of trouble for first ranked Universidad de Concepcion (15-5) on Sunday. Universidad de Concepcion managed to secure only two-point victory 83-81. However their fans expected much easier game. Universidad de Concepcion had a 28-17 advantage in offensive rebounds. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 24 assists. The best player for the winners was American forward Tracy Robinson (201-86, college: Loyola, IL) who scored 31 points and 7 rebounds. The other American import center Yamene Coleman (208-86, college: Troy, agency: Interperformances) chipped in 12 points and 5 rebounds. Universidad de Concepcion's coach Pablo Ares used entire bench in such tough game. Venezuelan forward Juan Coronado (203-90, college: Liberty) produced a double-double by scoring 20 points and 17 rebounds (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field) and Jamaican-American guard Akeem Scott (185-83, college: High Point) added 24 points, 5 assists and 4 steals respectively for the guests. Universidad de Concepcion maintains first position with 15-5 record. AB Ancud lost third consecutive game. They keep the sixth place with 11 games lost. They share the position with CDE Talca and CD Puerto Varas. Universidad de Concepcion are looking forward to face Colo Colo (#11) in Santiago in the next round and are hoping to win another game. AB Ancud will play at home against Espanol de Talca (#9) and is hoping to prove to their fans that they can break losing series.
