Regular Season Round 20: CD Valdivia - Colo Colo 101-65

Very expected game when 11th ranked Colo Colo (7-11) was rolled over on the road by third ranked Deportivo Valdivia (12-8) 101-65 on Sunday. Deportivo Valdivia made 27-of-30 free shots (90.0 percent) during the game. Worth to mention a great performance of the former international point guard Erik Carrasco (181-83) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 19 points, 8 rebounds, 12 assists and 5 steals (was perfect 10-for-10 from the free throw line !!!) and American guard Durrell Summers (193-89, college: Michigan St.) who added 29 points and 7 rebounds during the contest. Four Deportivo Valdivia players scored in double figures. Guard Fernando Schuler (189-91) responded with 16 points and 6 assists (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field) and the former international center Osven Ledezma (202-90) scored 16 points and 6 rebounds. Colo Colo's coach Gabriel Schamberger gave up on the game allowing to play twelve players seeing no chance for a win. Deportivo Valdivia have a solid three-game winning streak. They moved-up to second place, which they share with Las Animas. Colo Colo lost third consecutive game. They keep the eleventh position with 11 games lost. Deportivo Valdivia will meet Universidad Catolica (#8) in the next round where they are favorite. Colo Colo will play against the league's leader Universidad de Concepcion and hope to secure a win.
