Regular Season Round 11: Hapoel T-A - Maccabi T-A 77-90

Date: December 14, 2015
The most exciting game was a derby match between two local teams from Tel-Aviv: Maccabi T-A (#3) and Hapoel Tel-Aviv (#8). Hapoel Tel-Aviv was defeated at home 77-90 and even the advantage of their own court did not help. The game was mostly controlled by Maccabi T-A. Hapoel Tel-Aviv managed to win third quarter 20-15. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Maccabi T-A shot the lights out from three sinking 16 long-distance shots on high 59.3 percentage. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists. The best player for the winners was American-Montenegrin point guard Taylor Rochestie (185-85, college: Washington St.) who had a double-double by scoring 28 points and 10 assists. International Guy Pnini (200-83) chipped in 15 points. American point guard Talor Battle (182-88, college: Penn St., agency: Two Points) produced 14 points and 6 assists and the other American import guard Chester Simmons (196-82, college: Washington) added 19 points respectively for the hosts. Five Maccabi T-A and four Hapoel Tel-Aviv players scored in double figures. Hapoel Tel-Aviv's coach rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Maccabi T-A maintains third place with 8-3 record behind leader Hapoel J-M. Hapoel Tel-Aviv at the other side keeps the eighth position with seven games lost. They share it with Hapoel Eilat. Maccabi T-A are looking forward to face bottom-ranked Maccabi K/G (#12) in Kiryat Gat in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Hapoel Tel-Aviv will play at home against Ironi Nes-Ziona (#11) and is hoping to prove to their supporters that the loss was just an accident.
