Very predictable result when fourth ranked Galil Gilboa (8-2) smashed on the road 13th ranked Ironi Ashkelon (3-7) 105-81 on Tuesday. Galil Gilboa dominated down low during the game scoring 66 of its points in the paint compared to Ironi Ashkelon's 38 and had 24 for 33 from the free-throw line, while Ironi Ashkelon only scored seven points from the stripe. They outrebounded Ironi Ashkelon 43-31 including 33 on the defensive glass. Galil Gilboa looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. Ironi Ashkelon was plagued by 27 personal fouls down the stretch. Americans were the main players on the court. Jason Siggers (194-85, college: Albany) scored 28 points, 8 rebounds and 5 assists to lead the charge for the winners and forward Demetrius Treadwell (201-91, college: Akron) chipped in 26 points and 5 rebounds (on 11-of-14 shooting from the field) during the contest. Galil Gilboa's coach felt very confident that he used 11 players and allowed the starting five to rest. At the losing side power forward Germain Jordan (198-86, college: Dillard) responded with a double-double by scoring 16 points and 10 rebounds and forward Dominique Keller (205-88, college: Illinois) produced a double-double by scoring 14 points and 10 rebounds. Four Galil Gilboa and five Ironi Ashkelon players scored in double figures. Galil Gilboa have a solid three-game winning streak. They moved-up to third place, which they share with Ironi K-A. Ironi Ashkelon lost fourth consecutive game. They dropped to the tenth position with seven games lost. Galil Gilboa will face Hap.R/G Givat. (#7) in Givataim in the next round. Ironi Ashkelon will play on the road against Ironi Ramat Gan and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
