No shocking result in a game in Oldenburg where seventh ranked EWE Baskets (9-4) won against 15th ranked BG Goettingen (3-10) 85-72 on Friday. The game without a history. EWE Baskets led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 25 assists. Brazilian-American point guard Scott Machado (188-90, college: Iona, agency: Priority Sports) fired 12 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists for the winners. The former international Philipp Schwethelm (201-89) chipped in 17 points. Four EWE Baskets players scored in double figures. American point guard Khalid El-Amin (178-79, college: Connecticut) produced a double-double by scoring 14 points and 10 assists and the other American import power forward Harper Kamp (203-88, college: California) added 16 points and 6 rebounds respectively for lost side. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. EWE Baskets moved-up to fifth place, which they share with B.Muenchen and Fraport SKY. Loser BG Goettingen dropped to the sixteenth position with ten games lost. EWE Baskets will meet ratiopharm Ulm (#10) on the road in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. BG Goettingen will play against Eisbaeren Bremerhaven (#17) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
