Regular Season Round 12: Pogon RS - MKS DG 2 96-78

Very expected game when bottom-ranked MKS DG 2 (0-12) lost to seventh ranked Pogon RS (6-6) in Ruda Slaska 78-96 on Saturday. Pogon RS dominated down low during the game scoring 64 of its points in the paint compared to MKS DG 2's 36. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 24 assists. MKS DG 2 was plagued by 27 personal fouls down the stretch. It was a good game for point guard Patryk Jelen (183-90) who led his team to a victory with 18 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists. Center Tomasz Stankala (202-91) contributed with 18 points (on 7-of-8 shooting from the field) for the winners. Point guard Patryk Wieczorek (188-96) replied with 20 points, 6 rebounds and 6 assists and swingman Aleksander Zalucki (192-98) added 18 points and 9 rebounds in the effort for MKS DG 2. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Pogon RS moved-up to sixth place in Group C, which they share with Alba Chorzow. Loser MKS DG 2 still closes the standings with 12 games lost. Pogon RS will face league's leader Polonia Bytom on the road in the next round and they do not belong to the favorites in that game. MKS DG 2 will play against Zaglebie (#8) in Sosnowiec and hopes to get finally their first victory.
