Regular Season Round 10: Lavrio - PAOK 62-78

Everything could happen at the game between two tied teams. Both thirteenth ranked PAOK and 11th ranked Lavrio had identical 3-6 record. But Lavrio was not able to use a home court advantage and was defeated by the opponent from Thessaloniki 78-62. The game was mostly controlled by PAOK. Lavrio was better in fourth quarter 18-14. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They dominated down low during the game scoring 46 of its points in the paint compared to Lavrio's 26. PAOK players were unselfish on offense dishing 24 assists comparing to just 10 passes made by Lavrio's players. Power forward Vangelis Margaritis (203-82) notched 20 points (on 9-of-10 shooting from the field) to lead the effort and American point guard Wiliam Hatcher (188-84, college: Miami, OH) supported him with 15 points and 4 assists. Even 14 points and 6 rebounds by American guard Demarius Bolds (193-84, college: Missouri Western) did not help to save the game for Lavrio. His fellow American import guard Brandon Young (193-91, college: De Paul) added 13 points and 5 rebounds for lost side. Both coaches allowed to play bench players saving starting five for next games. PAOK (4-6) moved-up to seventh place, which they share with Nea Kifisia and Trikalla. Lavrio lost third consecutive game. Newly promoted team dropped to the tenth position with seven games lost. PAOK's next round opponent will be Aiolos Trikallon (#8) at home. Lavrio will play against Apollon Patras and hope to win that game.
