There was an upset when 3rd placed Crema (10-3) was crushed at home by thirteenth ranked Fiorentina (5-8) 83-60 on Sunday. Fiorentina made 23-of-27 free shots (85.2 percent) during the game. Crema was plagued by 27 personal fouls down the stretch. Naturalized Ivorian guard Mohamed Toure (190-92, agency: Players Group) stepped up and scored 22 points and 5 assists for the winners and forward Emanuele Di Giacomo (203-94) chipped in 12 points and 11 rebounds. At the losing side center Davide Bozzetto (207-89) responded with 6 points, 18 rebounds and 4 blocks and point guard Luca Montanari (181-92) scored 10 points and 8 assists. Crema's coach gave up on the game allowing to play ten players seeing no chance for a win. The victory was the third consecutive win for Fiorentina. They moved-up to tenth place in B, which they share with Varese Coels. and Pavia. Loser Crema keeps the third position with three games lost. Fiorentina will face higher ranked Vicenza (#6) at home in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Crema will play against Bergamo and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
