Regular Season Round 9: Maccabi Ashdod - Bnot Hertzeliya 80-65

Very important is a road loss of second ranked Bnot Hertzeliya (6-2) against fourth ranked Maccabi Ashdod (6-3) on Monday night. Visiting Bnot Hertzeliya was defeated by Maccabi Ashdod in Ashdod 80-65. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of Bnot Hertzeliya. Maccabi Ashdod players were unselfish on offense dishing 28 assists comparing to just 12 passes made by Bnot Hertzeliya's players. International forward Alysha Clark (178-87, college: Middle Tenn.St.) stepped up with a double-double by scoring 23 points and 11 rebounds (went 7 for 7 at the free throw line) for the winners and the former international Shay Doron (175-85, college: Maryland) chipped in 11 points, 6 rebounds and 6 assists. Four Maccabi Ashdod players scored in double figures. The best for the losing side was American guard Jasmine Thomas (175-89, college: Duke) with a double-double by scoring 17 points, 10 rebounds and 4 assists and the other American import forward Keisha Hampton (187-90, college: De Paul, agency: LBM Management) scored 12 points and 8 rebounds. Maccabi Ashdod have a solid series of three victories in a row. Defending champion moved-up to third place, which they share with Ramat Hasharon. Bnot Hertzeliya at the other side keeps the second position with two games lost. Maccabi Ashdod will play against league's leader Maccabi Ramat Hen on the road in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Bnot Hertzeliya will play against Hap.Petah Tikva and hopes to get back on the winning track.
