A1 top team - Panathinaikos (11-0) had no problems winning another game on Wednesday. This time they crushed fourteenth ranked Kavala (1-10) in Athens 88-54. The game was mostly controlled by Panathinaikos. Kavala managed to win fourth quarter 18-16. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Panathinaikos dominated down low during the game scoring 42 of its points in the paint compared to Kavala's 22 and made 22-of-24 free shots (91.7 percent) during the game, while Kavala only scored two points from the stripe. They outrebounded Kavala 45-28 including a 36-19 advantage in defensive rebounds. Panathinaikos looked well-organized offensively handing out 25 assists. American point guard Tyler Laser (185-88, college: E.Illinois) came up with 20 points and guard Mihalis Giannakidis (192-88) added 18 points respectively for Kavala in the defeat. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games.
