The game without a history. Deportivo Valdivia led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated down low during the game scoring 72 of its points in the paint compared to CD Castro's 50 and made 20-of-25 free shots (80.0 percent) during the game. They outrebounded CD Castro 38-24 including a 31-16 advantage in defensive rebounds. Deportivo Valdivia looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists. American guard Durrell Summers (193-89, college: Michigan St.) fired 31 points for the winners. His fellow American import forward Arnold Louis (201-90, college: Savannah St.) chipped in a double-double by scoring 18 points and 13 rebounds. Nigerian-American power forward Ike Okoye (206-86, college: Boise St.) produced 17 points and 7 rebounds and international forward Juan Fontena (196-87) added 17 points respectively for lost side. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games.
