Very predictable result in Rishon Le-Zion where third ranked Maccabi Rishon (9-3) defeated 10th ranked Hapoel Tel-Aviv (4-9) 80-73. The hosts were tied after three quarters but managed to speed up in last quarter eventually winning the game. Maccabi Rishon dominated down low during the game scoring 48 of its points in the paint compared to Hapoel Tel-Aviv's 26. Maccabi Rishon players were unselfish on offense dishing 24 assists. International swingman Shawn Dawson (198-93) nailed a double-double by scoring 22 points and 11 rebounds for the winning side and American point guard Mark Lyons (185-89, college: Arizona) accounted for 19 points and 8 assists. Maccabi Rishon will play against bottom-ranked Maccabi K/G (#12) in Kiryat Gat in the next round and are hoping to win another game.
