Regular Season Round 19: Nevezis - Lietuvos rytas 72-83
Date: December 30, 2015
The game in Kedainiai was also worth to mention about. Second ranked Lietuvos rytas (15-2) played at the court of 8th ranked Nevezis (6-11). Lietuvos rytas defeated Nevezis 83-72. The game was mostly controlled by Lietuvos rytas. Nevezis was better in fourth quarter 23-17. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. It was an exceptional evening for the former international center Antanas Kavaliauskas (208-84, college: Texas A&M, agency: Interperformances) who led the winners and scored 19 points and 5 rebounds (on 8-of-9 shooting from the field). International center Arturas Gudaitis (208-93) accounted for 12 points and 8 rebounds (made all of his eight free throws) for the winning side. Center Mindaugas Kupsas (217-91, agency: Octagon Europe) came up with 12 points and 9 rebounds and point guard Darius Gvezdauskas (191-88) added 16 points respectively for Nevezis in the defeat. Four Lietuvos rytas and five Nevezis players scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Lietuvos rytas have an impressive series of seven victories in a row. They maintain second place with 15-2 record having just one point less than leader Zalgiris. Nevezis at the other side keeps the eighth position with 11 games lost. Lietuvos rytas will play against Siauliai (#5) at home in the next round. Nevezis will play against Vytautas and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
