Regular Season Round 13: Cieszyn - AZS AGH Alstom 91-85

The game between second ranked AZS AGH Alstom (11-2) and ninth ranked Cieszyn (6-7) was the most important one in the last round on Saturday night. AZS AGH Alstom was defeated by Cieszyn in a tough game in Cieszyn 85-91. It ended at the same time the six-game winning streak of AZS AGH Alstom. It was a great shooting night for Cieszyn especially from behind the arc, where they had solid 55.6 percentage. Guard Grzegorz Szybowicz (186-86) stepped up and scored 29 points, 5 assists and 6 steals for the winners and forward Rafal Domajer (190-76) chipped in 10 points and 7 rebounds. At the losing side power forward Maciej Maj (200-88) responded with a double-double by scoring 21 points and 15 rebounds and guard Jakub Krawczyk (191-91) scored 20 points and 4 assists. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Cieszyn moved-up to sixth place in Group C, which they share with 3 other teams. AZS AGH Alstom at the other side keeps the second position with two games lost. Cieszyn is looking forward to face MKS DG 2 (#12) in Dabrowa Gornicza in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. AZS AGH Alstom will play at home against AZS PS Gliwice (#4) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
