Regular Season Round 12: Kavala - Arkadikos 85-74

Bottom-ranked Kavala managed to get a second victory, breaking the ten-game losing streak. This time newly promoted Kavala won against twelfth-ranked Arkadikos 85-74. The game was mostly controlled by Kavala. Arkadikos was better in fourth quarter 31-22. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They made 19-of-22 charity shots (86.4 percent) during the game. Kavala forced 19 Arkadikos turnovers. Arkadikos was plagued by 24 personal fouls down the stretch. The winners were led by American point guard Tyler Laser (185-88, college: E.Illinois) who scored that evening 14 points, 8 rebounds and 5 assists and Bulgarian Chavdar Kostov (195-88, agency: Interperformances) supported him with 12 points. Five Kavala players scored in double figures. Even 23 points and 8 rebounds (perfect from the field making all nine shots !!!) by the former international center Vasileios Kavvadas (204-91) did not help to save the game for Arkadikos. Dutch-British guard Devon Van Oostrum (190-93, agency: Octagon Europe) added 16 points and 7 assists. Both coaches tested many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Newly promoted Kavala maintains fourteenth position with 2-10 record. Arkadikos lost third consecutive game. Arkadikos at the other side, also newcomer in the league, keeps the twelfth place with nine games lost. They share the position with Lavrio. Kavala will play against higher ranked PAOK (#5) in Thessaloniki in the next round and they do not belong to the favorites in that game. Arkadikos will play at home against AEK Athens (#4) where they are definitely not considered as a favorite in this game either.
