There was a small surprise when tenth ranked Caceres Basket (8-8) defeated at home 7th ranked Castello (8-8) 80-73. The hosts were ahead by 7 points but lost the second period ending it with a 2-point deficit before their 26-17 run, which allowed them to win the game. Caceres Basket made 18-of-21 charity shots (85.7 percent) during the game. It was a very good performance for guard Luis Parejo (195-89) who helped to win the game recording 24 points (made all of his ten free throws !!!). Forward Sergio Perez (205-79) contributed with 14 points and 8 rebounds for the winners. American forward Brandon Garrett (206-90, college: Murray St., agency: Duran International) replied with a double-double by scoring 10 points and 11 rebounds and guard Manuel Rodriguez (192-91) added 15 points in the effort for Castello. Four Castello players scored in double figures. Castello's coach Toni Ten rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Caceres Basket have a solid four-game winning streak. Caceres Basket moved-up to seventh place, which they share with 3 other teams including defeated Castello. Caceres Basket's next round opponent will be higher ranked Lobe Huesca (#5) on the road and it may be quite challenging game.
