Very expected game when 10th ranked Faenza (6-9) lost at home to fifth ranked Piombino (10-5) 91-83 on Sunday. Faenza was plagued by 26 personal fouls down the stretch. It was a good game for point guard Mattia Venucci (185-90) who led his team to a victory with 20 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists. The former international forward Mario Gigena (198-77) contributed with 13 points for the winners. Five Piombino players scored in double figures. Swingman Daniele Casadei (199-81) answered with 32 points and 6 rebounds and forward Jacopo Silimbani (202-86, agency: Interperformances) added 16 points and 6 rebounds in the effort for Faenza. Piombino moved-up to fourth place in B, which they share with Crema. Newly promoted Faenza keeps the tenth position with nine games lost. Piombino will face Rimini (#11) on the road in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Faenza will play against Trecate and hope to win that game.
