Regular Season Round 15: Trecate - Cento 64-99

Bottom-ranked Trecate is still unable to win any game. This time they could not use their home court advantage losing their 15th consecutive match to sixth ranked Cento (10-5) 99-64 on Sunday evening. Cento dominated down low during the game scoring 66 of its points in the paint compared to Trecate's 32. They outrebounded Trecate 43-26 including a 31-19 advantage in defensive rebounds. It was a good game for power forward Michele Benfatto (205-85) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 15 points and 16 rebounds. Luca Fontecchio (202-91, agency: Players Group) contributed with a double-double by scoring 16 points and 11 rebounds for the winners. Four Cento players scored in double figures. Point guard Luca Taffettani (185-1) answered with 15 points and 5 assists and guard Riccardo Peroni (182-92) added 13 points in the effort for Trecate. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Cento moved-up to fourth place in B, which they share with Crema. Newly promoted Trecate still closes the standings with 15 games lost. Cento will face Santarcangelo (#4) on the road in the next round. Trecate will play against Faenza (#10) and hopes to get finally their first victory.
