Important game to mention about took place in Ashkelon. Eighth ranked Hap.R/G Givat. (5-7) saved a 3-point victory on the road edging 11th ranked Ironi Ashkelon (3-9) 91-88 on Tuesday evening. They outrebounded Ironi Ashkelon 43-32 including 32 on the defensive glass. Hap.R/G Givat. looked well-organized offensively handing out 27 assists. It was a good game for forward Sagiv David (198-92) who led his team to a victory with 18 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists. The former international Uri Kokia (202-81, agency: Avi Zilberman) contributed with a double-double by scoring 15 points and 14 rebounds for the winners. American forward Dominique Keller (205-88, college: Illinois) replied with 39 points (!!!) and 9 rebounds and swingman Orr Leumi (192-96) added 18 points and 8 assists in the effort for Ironi Ashkelon. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Hap.R/G Givat. moved-up to seventh place, which they share with Elitzur Yavne. Ironi Ashkelon lost sixth consecutive game. They dropped to the thirteenth position with nine games lost. Hap.R/G Givat. will face bottom-ranked Hapoel Migd.H. (#14) in Tarshicha in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Ironi Ashkelon will play on the road against the league's leader Hapoel Afula where they are definitely not considered as a favorite in this game either.
