There was no surprise when 12th ranked Hapoel Holon (3-11) was crushed on the road by seventh ranked Maccabi Ashdod (7-8) 94-68 on Tuesday. The game was mostly controlled by Maccabi Ashdod. Hapoel Holon was better in second period 24-18. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They outrebounded Hapoel Holon 41-26 including a 30-17 advantage in defensive rebounds. The best player for the winners was American power forward Charles Thomas (203-86, college: Arkansas) who scored 24 points and 5 rebounds. The other American import point guard Diante Garrett (196-88, college: Iowa St.) chipped in 20 points and 5 rebounds.
